This procedure is concerned with breast enlargement. It is obtained by the use of prostheses, most commonly filled with saline solution.
These implants are placed either directly behind the breast or a chest muscle (pectoralis major) underlying the breast. A small incision either in the fold underneath the breast, around the nipple or in the armpit is required to perform the surgery.
Recovery time is in the range of four to seven days. The procedure is performed either under local with sedation or general anesthesia. Patients usually return to work four days after the surgery on average. Normal exercising is usually resumed after about 2 weeks.
